A Jangle In The Air

Looking for a jangle in the air.
All I see is tangles everywhere.
The simple dream seems far away.
Broke, forgotten, gone astray,
Looking for a jangle in the air.

I tell myself the best is yet to come,
But the best sure has a lot to overcome.
Nobody looks me in the eye,
They turn away, pass me by.
Looking for a jangle in the air.
The stars give off a ghostly light
Out toward the Milky Way.
The Moon is very close tonight,
And you are far away.

Looking for the God in you and me.
Looking close, but it’s very hard to see.
Caught in the middle and I muddle through
And there’s not much Heaven to hang on to.
Looking for the God in you and me.
I close my eyes, I take a breath,
I feel the evening chill.
Alone here on the busy earth
I’m holding very still.

Looking for a jangle in the air.
All I see is tangles everywhere.
The simple dream seems far away.
Broke, forgotten, gone astray,
Looking for a jangle in the air.
