Mikey took my truck and he broke it,
Then he turned to me and said, “So what?”
So I said, “Say you’re sorry”
But he won’t say he’s sorry,
No he won’t say he’s sorry,
Mike: “’Cause I’m not!”

So I went and complained to the teacher,
And I brought her to the very spot.
Mikey won’t say he’s sorry.
Teacher: “You won’t say you’re sorry?”
No he won’t say he’s sorry,
Mike: “’Cause I’m not!”
He’s not. He’s not.
Mikey won’t say he’s sorry,
Mike: “’Cause I’m not!”

So she took him to the Principal’s office,
And she sat him down in front of Mr. Scott.
Teacher: “Mikey won’t say he’s sorry.”
Mr. Scott: “You won’t say you’re sorry?”
No he won’t say he’s sorry,
Mike: “’Cause I’m not!”

So they took him to the Police Station
To the biggest, toughest cop they’ve got.
Mr. Scott: “Mikey won’t say he’s sorry.”
Cop: “You won’t say you’re sorry?”
No he won’t say he’s sorry,
Mike: “’Cause I’m not!”
He’s not. (He’s not.) He’s not. (He’s not.)
Mikey won’t say he’s sorry,
Mike: “’Cause I’m not!”

So they took him to the Judge at the Courthouse
Cop: “This Judge don’t like kids an awful lot!
If they don’t say they’re sorry.”
But he won’t say he’s sorry,
No, he won’t say he’s sorry,
Mike: “’Cause I’m not!”
The Judge said, “How do you plead?”
Mike: “Not sorry!”

So the Judge said, "I’ll have to call your parents.
And the water you’ll be in will be hot,
If you don’t say you’re sorry,
So you’d best say you’re sorry.”
Mikey say you’re sorry!
Judge: “Go ahead, say you’re sorry.”
Mike: “Okay, I’m sorry.”
Judge: “Case dismissed!”

As I walked Mikey home from the Courthouse
I said, “I’m sorry if I put you on the spot.
But you have to say you’re sorry.”
Mike: “I did say I’m sorry.”
Yeah, but are you sorry. Really, really sorry?
Mike: “No, I’m not!”
