His Name Is Ty

New kid in school
Just isn't cool,
My friends and I think he's a fool.
He sits in back, real quiet in back,
While the rest of the class goes
Yakety yak, yakety yak,
Yakety yak yak yak.
His name is Ty, he won't say hi,
Won't even look you in the eye.
Ty's a real strange guy
And no one quite knows why.

For a month or two
He won't say boo,
Just mumbles if he talks to you.
And up at lunch, won't join the bunch,
Just sits alone for his
Munchety munch, munchety munch,
Munchety munch munch munch.
His name is Ty, he won't say hi,
Won't even look you in the eye.
Ty's a real strange dude,
He acts a little rude.

He's the very last person
That I picked to play
Basketball in the gym one day
And we didn't play well
And it was touch and go
'Til Ty got hot,
And what do you know?
He hit the winning shot
And believe it or not,
He did it again and he did it again
And he hit the winning shot
Three games in a row! Whoa...

Now we hang in the gym.
Ty's not so grim.
He's used to us, we're used to him.
And today at snack he starts to yak.
With the rest of the class he goes
Yakety yak, yakety yak,
Yakety yak yak yak.
His name is Ty and he says hi,
He even looks you in the eye.
Ty's a real nice guy,
He's just a little shy.

Now when I meet some girl
Or I meet some guy
Who won't say hi
Or look me in the eye,
I've learned from Ty the reason why.
Hey diddle diddle, it ain't no riddle,
They're just a little, just a little,
Just a little... shy.
